Bellyfit: Could it be the next Zumba?

Bellyfit is a new fitness trend that started in British Columbia and is taking Canada by storm. Bellyfit is a fusion of fitness, borrowing from several well regarded disciplines. Designed especially for the woman, each session begins with a calorie burning cardio half hour of heart pumping, but easily followed, dance moves borrowed from; belly dancing, African dance, Bollywood and Bhangra. As in Zumba, music is the heart and soul of Bellyfit. Drawing from the world music scene, all the music in a Bellyfit class is complied by DJ Rowan Sentesy, who fuses ethno-infused techno, tribal rhythms, and relaxing ambient music for each soul nourishing session. The second half of the class focuses on tightening and toning the core with moves borrowed from the science of Pilates and deep stretching borrowed from the Yoga tradition. each class ends with a Mudra meditation.

On November 26, 1922, Lord Carnarvon stood behind Archaeologist and Egyptologist Howard Carter as he peered into the tomb of the unknown Pharaoh Tutankhamun. The Portuguese Water Dog

Portuguese Water Dogs, PWD, or Porties, once faced extinction with only 25 known dogs. Today, this breed is as popular as ever. Recent notoriety has come with the choice of a Portuguese Water Dog as a possible resident in Obama’s Whitehouse. It is believed the Portuguese Water Dog existed in pre-Christian times, there were severe penalties for anyone who killed a water dog during this period . The first written evidence of the Portuguese Water Dog according to the Portuguese Water Dog Club of America, is the description left by a monk writing in 1297 about a dying Irish sailor brought out of the sea by a Portuguese Water Dog.
